ASPENDOS & PERGE
An appointed driver and tour guide will welcome you at the pier of Antalya. You will enjoy a beautiful ride to the countryside of Antalya, Perge.
Perge was an independent city republic until the time of Alexander the Great, at which time it became the principal city of Pamphylia. Perge continued to prosper under Rome until its importance declined in the Byzantine period. You’ll find impressive remains of a Greco-Roman stadium, one of the best preserved in Turkey. Adjacent to the stadium is one of the biggest theaters of antiquity. Other remains of the ancient city include temples, basilicas, and a building that used to house the thermal baths and gymnasium. Your private tour will continue with the visit of Aspendos.
Just 25 miles east of Antalya are the remains of one of the best preserved theaters in the world.
Built in the second century, it seats 15,000 people. So perfect are its acoustics that even today a coin dropped from the orchestra pit can be clearly heard in the top row. Just beyond are the remains of the acropolis, agora, and a striking Roman aqueduct. Your private tour will end at the pier of Antalya.
Included services: Transportation by a private air-conditioned chaffeur-driven vehicle, professional tour guide licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, all entrance fees, parking fees, petrol, pick up & drop off at pier or hotel, all taxes.
