BODRUM CASTLE, MUSEUM OF UNDERWATER ARCHAEOLOGY AND ORIENTATION WALK IN BODRUM
An appointed driver and tour guide will welcome you at the pier of Bodrum.
Following an orientation drive to Bodrum citycenter, the guide will escort you through the castle and its preserved treasures. Bodrum Castle was built by the Knights Hospitaller in 1402. For over a century the Bodrum Castle remained the second most important castle of the Order. It served as a refuge for all Christians in Asia Minor.
In 1962 the Turkish Government decided to turn the castle into a museum for the underwater discoveries of ancient shipwrecks in the Aegean Sea. The Museum houses a collection of amphoras, ancient glass, bronze, clay, iron items. It is the biggest of its kind devoted to underwater archaeology.
After the visit to the castle, you will scroll down the Bodrum Marina through the local shops lining the busy narrow streets to see hub of real Bodrum life. Your private guide will then take you to the ancient windmills to see the panorama view of Bodrum.
Please note: Museum is closed during the lunch break between 12.00am-01.00pm and on Mondays.
Included services: Transportation by a private air-conditioned chaffeur-driven vehicle, professional tour guide licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, entrance fees, parking fees, petrol, pick up & drop off at pier or hotel, all taxes.
